Spring update

To our parents, guardians and supporters:

-Remember back in August, when we asked you to register your County Market Max Cards and your Jerry’s IGA cards on behalf of the Parents’ Association?

Your support has brought in a total of $352.70 from the 4-month “Max Dollars for Education” campaign. To date, the Jerry’s IGA HVC program has brought in $267.85. Thank you!

County Market Max Card holders will have the opportunity to register their cards again during STM’s August registration. For our Jerry’s IGA HVC card customers, you will have the opportunity to re-register your cards earlier. Please check the STM website for more information.

If you are new to STM or have not yet registered for either of these programs, we encourage you to sign up for the cards. There are no fees. By registering your cards on behalf of the Parents’ Association, you receive store-sponsored discounts and we receive a percentage of your purchases. The money is then used to support our many activities throughout the year.

-As our school’s population of students has grown, the Parent’s Association’s role in the school has expanded as well. In addition to publishing the Student/Parent Directory, providing snacks to our students during Finals and meals to our faculty and staff, helping to off-set the cost of Post-Prom and the spring musical, we have also been called upon to assist with community-building events such as Grandparents Day. Next year, we will be a part of the “Future Sabers” activities.

-Don’t forget to go through all of the uniform “stuff” at the end of the school year and make a trip to STM, where a drop-off box is waiting for your donations. We will be accepting gently used uniform components through May and the first week in June. We hope to open the “Sabers’ Closet” during the STM August registration and offer polos, PE clothes and other uniform components at a nominal cost.

-A big “thank you” to all of you who have volunteered this year for the many PA-sponsored activities. The faculty and staff are most appreciative of the meals provided during the Parent-Teacher Conferences, the annual Christmas luncheon and Catholic Schools Week. We had a number of freshmen parents assist with snacks in January during Finals. We will be referring to our sign up sheets for the Graduation Reception on Sunday, May 20th and for the Finals held in May as our school year ends, so thanks in advance for giving your time to the PA!

If you have any questions about the Parents’ Association, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Ruta Rauber is the 2006-2007 president. Claire Prudhomme is the 2007-2008 president. Thank you for supporting our efforts to both maintain and continue our mission of community-building.
