During the 2023-2024 school year, 65 students who attended the High School of Saint Thomas More qualified for Empower Illinois and received upwards of $496,000 collectively. Unfortunately, the Invest in Kids Act which supported the Empower Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program had a sunset provision which came at the end of 2023. The Illinois State Legislature failed to take action on the Invest in Kids Act, and thousands of kids and their families across the state who relied on it to find their best-fit school are now left without hope. 

We recently launched our Sponsor a Saber Program that is built around the concept that Sabers take care of Sabers. Those who may be financially blessed are able to sponsor another family who may not have access to the same resources. Supporters of this program can elect to pay the full yearly tuition of another student ($14,095*), one half of the yearly tuition ($7,048*), one quarter of the yearly tuition ($3,524*), or any other amount. *Tuition rates provided are for Non-Catholic or Not-Affiliated Catholic students as recipients of this scholarship do not need to be Catholic to qualify for assistance. Payments may be made up front or in installments. Access to these funds will be needs based and students who apply for assistance will be financially screened to determine level of support. One gift could support multiple families in our school!
