Congratulations to the Science Olympiad Team this past weekend at the State Meet; the team placed 8th out of 26 teams. Those who medaled are Noel Josefik, Elijah Taylor and Nicholas Woodward for 5th place in Code busters, Noel Josefik and Julia Burgos for 4th place in Fossils and to Kaitlynn Ballard and Julia Burgos for 4th place in Towers. Way to go!!
Last night STM hosted the Illini Prairie Conference Art Show and Concert. After a day of rehearsals and workshops, the art and Music students presented their hard work. The outstanding Choral Concert, directed by guest conductor Dr. Bruhn, included STM students Nick Woodward, Toby Kreps, Abbie Vavrik, Julia Taylor, Sophia Goebel, Jordynn Huskisson, Rebekah Taylor, Gabe Yallaly and Alex Huber. STM also took away awards in the art competition. In painting, Kaitlyn Brown won 2nd place, Ryan Roesel took 1st place in scratchboard and STM swept the photography category with Chloe Garcia earning 1st place, Sam Yallaly placing 2nd and Christian Garcia getting 3rd. Congratulations to all for a great day and a special thank you to Dr. Lee, Sr. Bridget and Mrs. Pagel for all their hard work and to Mr. Cuppernell for bringing the risers.
ATTENTION FUTURE SHH MEMBERS AND CURRENT SHH MEMBERS: We will begin practicing for the SHH Ceremony next week. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY! Those who plan on being inducted will be removed from the list if they miss practices. We will meet on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:20 am in the cafeteria. We will have the "dress rehearsal" on Tuesday, April 22nd at 7:20 in the cafeteria. The ceremony will be Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Wednesday, April 16, will be a $5.00 Dress Down Day with the proceeds benefiting the AB Science Class. Wear your favorite flannel, jeans, boots and hat. Best dressed Gu and Gal will win a $10.00 gift card. Don’t forget the cost is $5.00. You will need to borrow $5.00 from a friend if you forget your money. No FACTS payment will be accepted.
