The EMPOWER Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program is due to "sunset" in January 2023. We would like to have it be permanent. The upcoming legislative veto session in Springfield is our first and most important chance to let our elected officials know that we want them to remove the sunset provision of the law.

Another way to help is by traveling to Springfield during the veto session in mid-November. EMPOWER Illinois is going to pay for a charter bus to transport a large group from our area. We are going to plan on Wednesday the 16th of November. It will be an all day event with 9 am departure and a 5 pm return. They will also provide lunch. We need 25 to 30 people from STM to help make this reality. Please contact the STM front office if you'd like to attend.

Today after All School Mass, our students presented Mr. & Mrs. Peete with their "Fuel Their Joy" check towards the purchase of a new vehicle. All funds were raised via donation. They were truly surprised! A little over a week ago, the Peetes' van caught fire in the parking lot.
Tomorrow is All School Mass. please remember to wear Mass attire to school.

Congratulations to OSF on celebrating 100 Years of Catholic Health Care in Champaign-Urbana! A luncheon reception was held to commemorate this milestone and was served by some of our outstanding students. In attendance was Bishop Louis Tylka & Sr. Judith Ann Duvall, OSF.
St. Malachy School Fall Festival 2022: Sun., October 9th from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM. There will be inside dining and carry out meals available. Dinner costs: $15.00 adult, Senior Citizen $12.00 and $10.00 for children (12 years of age or under). Dinner tickets can be purchased at the Belle Ave entrance the day of the event. All payments for meals are payable to St. Malachy School-Fall Festival.
We will also have a bake sale, local vendors, and inflatables in our kid’s zone! Please join us for faith, fellowship, and fun!

We wanted to let you know that the 2021-2022 yearbooks are in! For the classes of 2025 to 2023, they were distributed at lunch this week. For the class of 2022, pick up is available in the STM front office Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There are a limited number of extra copies available for purchase by cash or check upon pickup for $57. If paying by check, please make them out to "Jostens" with "STM 21-22 yearbook" in the memo line. If you are unsure of your order status or if you are interested in reserving one of these copies for your child, please email last year's Yearbook Club advisor Mrs. Erica Sherman (esherman@hs-stm.org).
