BREAKING NEWS: Exciting scholarship matching gift opportunity for The High School of St Thomas More. John and Kathy Schreiber are sponsoring a 1:1 matching gift program for donations raised toward tax credit scholarships for our school.
By participating, STM has the opportunity to DOUBLE funds available for tuition assistance. This model has been successfully used by other Catholic schools across the state to motivate and attract new donors, and we are confident that it will benefit us with the same positive outcome.
How It Works:
For every $1 we raise for tax credit scholarships through Empower Illinois, John and Kathy Schreiber will donate $1. Their donation will be capped at $15,000.00.
This matching gift program begins Monday, February 1, 2021.
The program will end when all matching funds have been depleted or on March 31, 2021, whichever comes first.

I wanted to remind all of our families with eighth graders that the early application tuition discount of 2% ends at 11:59 p.m. on January 31. If you are currently enrolled, you DO NOT need to re-enroll for next year, but if you have started an application for an incoming freshman or new student, please finish that up ASAP to be considered eligible. Please note that a partially completed application cannot be reviewed and therefore considered for the early application tuition discount. Science Olympiad will have a mandatory meeting in the library after school this Friday, January 22nd. We will discuss events and the virtual regional tournament. It is important all team members attend. New members are also welcome. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

Reservations for a 2021-2022 Empower Illinois tax credit scholarship will open tonight, January 13 at 6:30pm.
Like last year, the application process will include two steps: a reservation and an application.
Families should visit Empowerillinois.org to find the reservation page link. Families do not make their tax credit scholarship reservations by logging into their EmpowerXChange portal.
The reservation form will be available at 6:30pm to give families time to enter their information before submission at 7pm. More information about preparing for reservation night can be found on our website under, "How Do I Apply."
Families who have previously completed a tax credit scholarship application through the EmpowerXChange portal should use the same email address when making their reservation.
